As you read and learn about what happened on the Freezeout Ridge Fire, one critical lesson needs to be conveyed: the emergency helicopter extraction that took place on the Freezeout Ridge Fire was NOT a Short-Haul operation.  If you request a short-haul, it will be a different type of operation than what you see in the Freezeout report and video.
